"I say a 10 but that seems impossible, right?  To me a 9 or 10 because not everyone is perfect.  Here’s what I will say….   He is certainly qualified but more importantly to me, he is relationship driven. Things inevitably go wrong on construction sites and it is how you handle them that is important.  Nothing happens exactly the way you plan. He always comes with solutions and will present any problems to you so you can make the best decision on how to move forward.  He is not out to do just one job, he wants the repeat business and really is just a good person at the end of the day.  A standup guy, a person with integrity.  It is hard to find those kinds of people in our business.  Even if he is not doing work for me, I still call him when I run into situations on other projects to get his take.  He always finds the time to give me answers.  He has been doing this a long time and he really wants to do the right thing.  He is very family oriented and I like that too. I tell you this because I think it says what kind of person he is. Obviously, he knows his “stuff” but it is always great to work with a good person, a nice person, a person with good intentions, a person who is positive, a person who really wants to do the right thing, a person who is approachable, a person who can listen.  It’s about the people at the end of the day in business and life.  I would be more than happy to talk to you about Matt.  I really cannot say enough good things about him.  I mean, not trying to put him on a pedestal or anything because no one is perfect.  In the past ten years we’ve have our share of hard to do projects for sure.  But, we work through them collectively – like a team.  I feel like when I am working with him he is in the trenches with me and we have the same goal.  He’s got my back.
